Duane Graves was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. After receiving a degree in TV/Film from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, he shot the critically-acclaimed documentary Up Syndrome, an intimate portrait of his childhood friend Rene Moreno who was born with Down Syndrome. Graves also produced and edited the documentary, which won three Best Documentary awards at festivals across the country including the 2001 Slamdance Film Festival. Justin Meeks as "LEGION." Justin was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. After receiving a double major degree in Psychology and TV/Film from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, he moved to Austin to pursue film acting and screenwriting with collaborator Duane Graves. He currently is a published poet, musician, and runs a construction sales company in Austin.
Kim Henkel's background is in screenwriting and film production. He has written, directed, or produced a number of independent films, including the seminal horror film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and the critically acclaimed, Last Night at the Alamo which was recently acquired by the Independent Film Channel. He currently resides in Port Aransas, Texas, and teaches screenwriting and production courses at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.
Rene Moreno as "DEMON." Rene was born and raised in the same San Antonio neighborhood as Duane Graves. He spent his summers acting in Graves' VHS horror movies and composing music. Rene graduated from the Nelli Reddix Vocational Center in 1998 and, in the year following his commencement, became the subject of Up Syndrome. He composed more than half of the documentary's soundtrack and has presented the movie at several screenings across Texas. He continues to live and work in San Antonio.
Quentin Guerrero as "MORTAL." Quentin came of age in a nomadic Peruvian herding community. At the age of ten, he was auctioned off to a vacationing steel tycoon who brought him back to Texas. He made ends meet in Dallas acting in live shows involving erotic, yet emotionally driven, interpretive dance. In 1999 he bought a book at Barnes & Noble and learned how to build his own coffin, and has since become a successful undertaker in San Antonio. He also has a part-time job at Luther's.
Terry Fenner is a bizarre and uninhibited creature that entered the earth's atmosphere ten years ago. However, he is known to travel in and out of reality and our forum we call earth. Originally from the planet Morticon, he is a first generation Mort seeking work as an actor in Austin.
Hailing from Van Nuys, California, Justin "Ardabus Rubber" Baker creates abrasive and intense noise from various electronic devices put together and looped in a certain way. Mixed with vocals, guitar, and keyboards along with feedback manipulation, tape noise, radio, cb's, and countless other devices used to change the sound. Also could be labeled as Maximum Minimal Music for Maximus Musical Minimalists.
James "MOZ" Brand is from Anchorage, Alaska. He has several cassettes and a couple of 7's under his belt with a split CD not only being his first widely available release, but virtually the entire soundtrack to Headcheese. Sonically combining Death Industrial, Dark Ambient and the occasional power electronics suggestion, the core of MOZ's work lies with his socio/political interests.
